Mildura Rural City Council’s Amplify Youth Team is a group of passionate young people aged between 12 and 25 who will create and deliver music, arts and cultural events for other young people in our community.

The program gives young people the chance to make a difference, learn new skills and bring fresh ideas to life.

What will my role be? What’s involved?

As part of the Youth Team, you’ll:

  • Work as a team to lead, plan and deliver events and activities for young people
  • Attend fortnightly meetings
  • Develop skills in event management through hands-on experience and training
  • Connect with local businesses, schools and community groups
  • Create spaces where young people can connect, express themselves, and have fun in their community
  • Promote events and get more young people involved
  • Take part in social and team building activities 

Who can join?

Anyone aged between 12 and 25 interested in learning new skills while gaining hands-on experience. We’re looking for those who commit to meetings, events and activities.

When and where do we meet?

The team will meets face-to-face each fortnight at Mildura Rural City Council’s Deakin Avenue Offices. Meeting times will be set based on team availability.

How long is the commitment?

The Youth Team will run for six months, with the option to continue for a further six months.

What has the team hosted in the past?

In 2025 the team hosted a variety of events and initiatives, including:

  • Youth Showcase – celebrating young talent in music, arts and performance
  • The Beat – a live music event featuring local and emerging artists
  • Pop Up Music Activations – bringing live music to local spaces
  • Pool Parties – Summer fun with music, games and activities
  • Youth Discos – high-energy dance nights for young people

Requirements

  • This is a volunteer role, and a great way to gain experience, meet new people and build skills for the future!
  • If you are over the age of 18 a current Working with Children Check is required to participate
