Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccine
The free respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) Abrysvo vaccine is now available for eligible pregnant women.
RSV is a common virus that can cause a range of illnesses – from mild colds to severe conditions such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia.
A single dose of Abrysvo vaccine is recommended for pregnant women of all ages at 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy to protect their infants via passive immunisation.
RSV-associated hospitalisations are currently highest in infants under six months of age and generally declines with age from early childhood.
You are eligible to receive the free Abrysvo vaccine if:
- You are a Medicare Care Card holder and,
- meet the gestation requirements

Bookings are essential and should be made online using the below portal.
All bookings before 31 March 2026 will be through CIRV.

Appointments booked after 1 April 2026 will be through Vitavo.
