Mildura Rural City Council’s annual Australia Day Awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals and community organisations or groups in our region. These prestigious awards are one of the highest honours Council can bestow to publicly acknowledge local heroes, whose dedication and contributions may otherwise go unnoticed.

Recipients of these awards will be announced by the Mayor at our official Australia Day celebrations on 26 January 2022 at Nowingi Place.

These celebrations will get underway from 8am, and also include a free Lions Club breakfast, live entertainment, a flag-raising ceremony and Citizenship Ceremony.

*Please note this event is subject to COVID-19 restrictions. Changes will be advised as soon as possible if Victorian Government health directives change in the lead up to the event.

Award categories

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Project or Event of the Year
