Nominations for the 2027 Australia Day Awards are OPEN!

Mildura Rural City Council’s annual Australia Day Awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals and community organisations or groups in our region. These prestigious awards are one of the highest honours Council can bestow to publicly acknowledge local heroes, whose dedication and contributions may otherwise go unnoticed.

Award Categories

• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Community Project or Event of the Year

Award Nominations Period

The nomination period for the 2027 Australia Day Awards opened 8am Monday 31 August 2026 and will be accepted submissions until 5pm Friday 30 October 2026

How to Nominate

You can nominate by:

1. Completing the online submission form

2. Completing a hardcopy form and returning your nomination via email or post to us by the closing date and time noted.

Nomination forms and the online submission link are only available when the nomination period is open. 

Council will publish the nomination period on various platforms during the time nominations are open.
