Powerhouse Place Bookings

The first six months at Powerhouse Place have seen overwhelming demand for the spaces, and we are taking a short break from new booking applications while we review further enhancements to its activation! We will re-open to new bookings soon. Existing confirmed and tentative bookings are unaffected by this pause.

In the interim, if you are interested in Powerhouse Place for an event, we can still consider these case-by-case ‘on application’. Please email us with details of the type of event, and date(s). Contact us at bookings@mildura.vic.gov.au

Powerhouse Hall

The Powerhouse Hall is a versatile and unique venue that caters to a wide range of events, including commercial, community and private gatherings. Whether you're planning a wedding, birthday celebration, food and wine event, conference or any other special occasion, Powerhouse Hall is the perfect choice.

With a seating capacity of approximately 100-200 for sit-down dinners (dependent on layout), this spacious hall can accommodate a large number of guests. For events that require theatre-style seating or standing and dancing, the capacity can be expanded even further. The flexibility of the space allows for endless possibilities and ensures that your event can be tailored to your specific needs.

The beautifully renovated Powerhouse Hall has a distinctive local flavour with exposed red bricks and wood panels that come together to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, adding a touch of charm and character to any event. Whether you're hosting a formal affair or a more casual gathering, the ambiance of the venue is sure to impress.

Transmission Platform

The Transmission Platform is a versatile mezzanine space that is perfect for meetings and talks. It offers state-of-the-art conferencing facilities and provides a stunning view overlooking Powerhouse Hall and the Inspiration Station. Accessible by both lift and stairs, this space is ideal for a wide range of events including product launches, talks and business and community gatherings and meetings. The Transmission Platform can accommodate up to 40 people (dependent on layout).

Kitchen

The Powerhouse Place Kitchen offers a convenient on-site catering solution for all your events and activities at Powerhouse Place. Whether you choose to add it to your existing hire or opt for a standalone hire, the kitchen is available for individuals, businesses and community groups. The kitchen meets all regulatory health standards and is equipped with top-of-the-line features including a walk-in cool room and state-of-the-art induction cooking facilities. The kitchen is presented as a ‘bare’ space, meaning you or your caterer will need to supply all cookware, utensils, cutlery and crockery. The Kitchen can accommodate up to six (6) kitchen staff.

Subterranean Space

The Subterranean Space is a small and bespoke venue located in the belly of the Powerhouse. It features gallery lighting and a track system, allowing for flexible exhibition setups. The space has a capacity for up to 50 people, making it perfect for intimate gatherings. It welcomes exhibition proposals and can accommodate various functions, such as poetry slams, book readings and product launches. The Subterranean Space is both intimate and exclusive and offers a one-of-a-kind experience for its guests. The Subterranean Space can accommodate up to 50 people (dependent on layout).

Ghost Shelter 

Experience the rich industrial history of Mildura at the Ghost Shelter, a venue that pays homage to the original boiler house at the Mildura Electrical Plant. This unique structure is the perfect "spill out" space, offering a versatile option for hirers of the Powerhouse Hall or on its own as a one-of-a-kind experience.

Imagine hosting an open-air event at the Ghost Shelter, surrounded by the beautiful Mildura Riverfront. You and your guests can enjoy the shade and take in all that the riverfront has to offer, and, with the use of barriers, you can ensure that the space is restricted to only you and your guests, creating a private and intimate atmosphere. The Ghost Shelter can accommodate up to 150 people (dependent on layout).

Minimum of three (3) hours. Audio and Lighting Technicians. Supervising Technician begins shift at least 30 minutes prior to hirer’s arrival and concludes 30 minutes after hirer’s departure. Pre-rig and back to standard labour hours are charged to the hirer.

  • ‘Staffing’ is optional in that it is not mandatory for venue hirers to use Council Staff.
