Temporary Structure Siting Approval

Event organisers planning to use temporary structures at events within the Mildura Rural City Council Municipality may need to obtain specific permits. The Mildura Rural City Council Building Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant building legislation.

Types of Temporary Structures Requiring a Siting Permit

A Siting Permit is required for prescribed temporary structures, which include:

  • A stage or platform exceeding 150m2.
  • A tent, marquee, or booth with a floor area greater than 100m2.
  • A seating stand that accommodates more than 20 persons.
  • A prefabricated building with a floor area exceeding 100m2.
  • Some marquees, scaffolding, and inflatable structures may also require siting approval.
