Sunraysia property owners who still need to register their pool or spa are reminded the Victorian Government’s extended deadline is now less than a month away.

The Victorian Government earlier this year extended the deadline to register pools and spas from 1 June to 1 November 2020 as a COVID-19 support measure.

The mandatory regulations apply to any swimming pool or spa that can hold water to a depth greater than 30cm, including:

  • in-ground and above-ground pools and spas
  • inflatable pools
  • indoor pools and spas
  • children’s paddling and wading pools
  • spas, jacuzzis, hot tubs and swim spas (including portable spas).

If you live in the Mildura Rural City Council area and own a pool or spa, you can quickly and easily register online via our website by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/swimmingpoolsandspas

As part of the new Victorian Government regulations, which came into effect in December last year, property owners also need to have their swimming pool and spa barriers inspected and certified by a registered building surveyor, or a registered building inspector, every four years.
