Mildura Arts Centre will this month offer something truly special for lovers of classical music when Mozart the King is performed in the region.

For one night only, Sunraysia audiences will be able to immerse themselves in a live performance by Victoria’s pre-eminent chamber musicians and one of Australia’s most respected professional orchestras – the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra (MCO).

Billed as MAC’s classical highlight of the year, the MCO will take audiences on a unique cultural experience featuring a night of inspiring and beautiful music created by the world’s most famous composers – Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Cimarosa.

MCO will perform at MAC on Friday 22 November, starting at 7.30pm, with a pre-concert talk at 6.30pm.

Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said this was a unique opportunity for Sunraysia fans of classical music.

“Once again we’re seeing the benefits of our new-look Mildura Arts Centre precinct, with the ability to attract and host the calibre of performances we’re about to see this month,” Cr Modica said.

“Rather than needing to travel hundreds of kilometres to experience international-standard classical performances, we’re so fortunate to be able to take in these amazing experiences in our own city.”

Cr Modica said Mozart the King would be equally entertaining for those new to classical music due to the unique and approachable style taken by the MCO.

Mozart the King will showcase the talents of MCO members Stefan Cassomenos (piano), Michael Dahlenburg (conductor), Natalia Harvey (violin).

Tickets: Full $45|Concession $40|Student $25| Group 8+ $40pp.
