Mildura Rural City Council Libraries introduces Click and Collect

Mildura Rural City Council’s library service will introduce a contactless Click and Collect service from this Tuesday 25 August to ensure residents can continue to access library services safely during Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions.
The recent return of Stage 3 restrictions has forced the closure of Council’s library buildings, however library staff are continuing to innovate to ensure access to as many library items as possible.
The new Click and Collect service will operate from the Mildura, Red Cliffs and Merbein libraries during the following hours:
Mildura Library
Monday 1pm to 5pm
Tuesday – Friday 10am to 5pm
Saturday 10am to 2pm
Sunday 1pm to 5pm
Merbein and Red Cliffs Libraries
Tuesday – Friday 10am to 5pm
Saturday 10am to 1pm.
As part of the new Click and Collect service library members can either place items on hold from the online library catalogue, or by phoning library staff and ordering a bag of library items, which can be picked up from members’ nominated library.
In addition to the Click and Collect service, Mildura Rural City Council Libraries’ postal delivery service is still operating, providing another option for residents. This service is available to residents across the municipality, including residents in outlying towns.
Library members can place items on hold by visiting the library service website at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/library. Library staff will then make contact to determine if items are to be collected or posted out.
Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica encouraged residents to utilise the new service.
“Our library buildings may be closed due to the return of Stage 3 restrictions, but that doesn’t mean residents should go without the regular library items they value,” Cr Modica said.
“In many ways our library service is even more important during these difficult times, providing residents with materials to enjoy while spending more time at home, and our new Click and Collect service ensures they can do that.”
Residents unable to access the online catalogue can contact the library service to organise a personally tailored collection of library materials. A maximum of 10 items are available. To access this service email library@mildura.vic.gov.au or phone (03) 5018 8350.
