Meet best-selling crime fiction author at Mildura Library
Published on 22 July 2026
Best-selling Australian crime fiction author Jo Dixon will be at Mildura Library this month as part of the library’s Warm Winter Read series, providing a rare opportunity for residents to gain a first-hand insight into the inspiration behind the successful author’s work.
Jo will be at the library at 5.30pm on Tuesday 28 July, allowing residents to meet and discuss the author’s work as well as participate in an in-conversation discussion.
Jo Dixon is a best-selling author who shot to critical acclaim with her psychological thrillers and suspense novels after moving to writing full-time, short-listed for major literary honours including the prestigious Ned Kelly Awards and Danger Awards.
Her works include The House of Now and Then, A Shadow at the Door and A Disappearing Act.
Mildura’s Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Arts, Culture and Heritage Helen Healy encouraged the community to embrace the event.
“The Warm Winter Read series is a great initiative, encouraging our community to celebrate reading in all its forms, and meeting such a successful author in-person is a powerful way to do that,” Cr Healy said.
“For those already familiar with Jo’s works, this is an exciting opportunity to delve further into her creative and writing process, while for those new to her books, I can’t think of a better introduction.”
Cr Healy said the event was free to attend and aimed at adults, scheduled to be a convenient time at 5.30pm to drop-in to the library on their way home from work.
“I encourage everyone to come along for this special event to spend some time talking to a great Australian author,” she said.
“It’s also great to see our libraries responsive to our community’s needs, as providing opportunities for our library members to meet successful authors was one of the actions that came out of our most recent Library Community Satisfaction Survey.”
People interested in meeting Jo can simply pop in at 5.30pm on Tuesday, 28 July.
