Local visual and performing artists are encouraged to become members of Mildura Arts Centre's new Artist Directory.

The directory is designed to bring local artists and associated groups together in one central listing, taking in artists, musicians, dancers, performers, educators and community organisations from the region.

Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said the directory would capitalise on Sunraysia's rich pool of artistic talent.

"We're so fortunate to have a thriving, diverse group of visual and performing artists in our community," Cr Modica said.

"By providing a central source of information about these artists, it's a great way to help promote their practice and services to the broader community.

"It will be equally valuable for people looking for a particular artist, arts-related organisation, or form of artwork in our region."

The directory will provide a platform to showcase each artist’s practice, online presence via website or social media and contact details. This directory will be a great ‘go to’ if someone is looking for an artist to host a workshop create a mural or perform at an event.

Mildura Arts Centre is seeking submissions to the directory by visiting www.milduraartscentre.com.au and downloading an Artist Directory form. Completed forms can then be emailed to arts_centre@mildura.vic.gov.au

Once submissions are received, Mildura Arts Centre will provide the directory on its website so it can be easily downloaded.
