Sunraysia’s younger residents will have plenty to keep them occupied during the upcoming school holidays with a host of new activities and the return of many firm favourites as part of Council’s January School Holiday Program.

Coordinated by Council’s Youth Services Team, the diverse range of activities on offer are designed to not only provide young people with a variety of fun activities, but the opportunity to learn new skills, keep active and meet new people.

Registrations are now open for the program, which runs from Monday 14 January to Friday 25 January.

Targeted at young people aged 12 to 16, new activities to the January School Holiday Program include the Pop-up Recording Studio, which allows participants to record and video a song for free, as well as a cruise down the Murray River on a paddle steamer.

There will also be the popular return of activities including Laserforce, Movie and Pizza Day, Inflatable World and cooling off by the Wave Pool among a host of activities.

Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Min Poole said Council’s Youth Services Team were constantly working to ensure school holiday activities were both fun and beneficial.

“Each year we see new and interesting activities added to our school holiday programs, and January is no different,” Cr Poole said.

“There are a whole raft of benefits, from building young peoples’ skills, knowledge and pathways, through to helping to develop their support networks with families, peers and the community.”

The January School Holiday Program is jointly funded by Council and the Victorian Government’s Engage Program.
