Melbourne Recital Centre in association with Mildura Arts Centre present Mick Nock with Julien Wilson and Stephen Magnusson for a memorable evening of jazz music on Friday 2 March at 7.30pm.

Mildura Rural City Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said that to have three of Australia’s most highly acclaimed jazz artists perform together at Mildura Arts Centre is an experience people will not want to miss.

“This magical performance should appeal to not only people who love jazz music but also people who simply appreciate good music,” Cr Modica said.

Sydney-based pianist/composer Mike Nock is a legend of Australasian jazz, with an international profile based on a 25-year career in the USA. He has produced several great solo piano albums over the past three decades and an album of his compositions was recorded by acclaimed pianist Michael Kieran Harvey.

Guitarist Stephen Magnusson is considered one of Australia’s most accomplished, versatile and distinct musicians with incredible technique and an astoundingly beautiful tone. He has performed with many leading artists including Paul Grabowsky, Australian Art Orchestra, Martin Breeze’s Blackbird, Megan Washington, Katie Noonan, Paul Kelly and many others.

Julien Wilson is one of Australia’s leading saxophonists who has performed on many award-winning albums and extensively as the Julien Wilson Trio.

“This is a fantastic way for the Mildura Arts Centre to kick off its 2018 performing arts season, which promises to bring many more amazing shows throughout the year for our community to enjoy, “Cr Modica said.

This project is supported by Melbourne Jazz Co-operative, RACV Music for Victoria, and the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
