Mildura Rural City Council is calling on our community to help develop our next four-year Youth Engagement Strategy.

The Strategy will provide Council with direction, focus and key actions when it comes to improving outcomes for our young people.

Council wants to hear from local youth aged 12 to 25 about their passions, interests and ideas.

The consultation process to develop the new Strategy is being led by our Youth Council, with Youth Councillor Nick Coe saying the new four-year plan would be created for young people, by young people.

“It’s really important young people aged between 12 and 25 have their say and share their thoughts, opinions and views for the future,” Nick said.

“We want to know what your interests are, what you think is important, what challenges are facing young people and what types of programs or initiatives you would like to see in our community.”

Councillor for Community Health and Wellbeing Troy Bailey said Council’s Youth Engagement Services team would also be hosting in-person opportunities for young people to share feedback.

“Those interested can stay tuned to our YourSay page to find out about these upcoming sessions, while also completing a short online survey,” Cr Bailey said.

“It’s really important we hear from as many young people as possible – your views, ideas and thoughts will be important to develop key themes and our direction forward.”

Young people can share their thoughts through our online survey yoursay.mildura.vic.gov.au/YouthStrategy
