Free seminars to help work more safely around power lines

Council will roll out a series of free seminars this month to provide important information on working safely around power lines.

Seminars will be held in Mildura, Ouyen and Red Cliffs and will be conducted by nationally-accredited training organisation Thomson Bridge.

Information will include:

  • obligations when working around power lines
  • No Go Zones and Safe Approach Distances
  • legal obligations
  • safety practices
  • risk assessment
  • hazards.

Seminars will be held at the following locations and dates:

Ouyen
Monday 28 October 2019
Ouyen Service Centre

Red Cliffs
Tuesday 29 October 2019
Red Cliffs Club
11 Heytsebury Avenue
2.30pm – 4.30pm

Mildura
Wednesday 30 October 2019
Mildura Working Man’s Club
100-110 Deakin Avenue
2.30pm – 4.30pm

All information and topics covered meets EnergySafe Victoria standards and industry best practice.

These free seminars are perfect for either individuals or businesses interested in ensuring their staff are aware of their obligations when working around power lines.
