Current and expectant parents interested in learning about the financial and environmental benefits of cloth nappies are encouraged to register for this month’s Cloth Nappies 101 online workshop.

The workshop will be held on Sunday 21 June at 2pm and provide a comprehensive introduction to cloth nappies.

It will cover the environmental and financial benefits, and run through the different styles available.

Parents will also learn how to wash and care for cloth nappies, as well as hacks to make the cloth nappy journey as easy as possible.

Councillor for Environment and Farming Sustainability Anthony Cirillo said the workshop would be presented by Elana from Cloth Nappy Workshops Melbourne who would not only provide a wealth of information, but break down some of the modern myths around cloth nappies.

“Elana’s workshop will provide a chance for participants to ask any questions they may have while also demonstrating a large variety of cloth nappies and other reusables, including ‘pull-ups’, swim nappies and cloth wipes,” Cr Cirillo said.

“Importantly, the workshop will also shed light on the massive contribution disposable nappies make to waste going to landfill, and how easy it is to make the transition to reusables.”

Cloth Nappies 101 is a free online workshop and will run for 90 minutes, with 30 minutes dedicated to questions from participants.

To register your interest or RSVP, email nardia.baker@mildura.vic.gov.au. Once registered, participants will receive a link to access the workshop.
