Exhibition celebrating arts educators in the region

A special exhibition celebrating the role of arts educators in the Sunraysia region opens at Mildura Arts Centre tomorrow.

Art Directions 2018 will run through until Sunday 14 October, highlighting both the artwork and the valuable role played by educators in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions, as well as community arts educators.

Mildura Rural City Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said this is the second time that local arts educators have put together an exhibition.

“In 2017, arts educators created works for Art Directions 2017 following a desire to showcase their work,” Cr Modica said.

“The exhibition was so well received that the artists decided to create new works for the 2018 exhibition.

“It is through the ongoing dedication and commitment of arts teachers and MAC staff that this exciting exhibition has become a reality, showcasing the works of those who on a daily basis are inspiring the next generation of young artists coming through.”

People are invited to the exhibition opening tomorrow night from 6pm.
