Registrations are still open for Council’s September School Holiday program, featuring several new activities and the return of a host of regular favourites.

Running from Monday 23 September to Friday 4 October, the school holiday program will be facilitated from the Mildura Scout Hall in Twelfth Street and is open to young people aged 12 to 16.

New activities this year include an acrobatics class, Gingerbread House Making Workshop, an opportunity for young people to have their nails done, and cupcake decorating.

Return favourites include Laserforce, Movies and Pizza Day, Inflatable World and sand tobogganing.

Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Min Poole encouraged people to book their school holiday activities now to avoid missing out.

“Our Youth Services Team do an amazing job to keep our school holiday programs new and fresh, combining firm favourites with new activities each time,” Cr Poole said.

“Importantly, our school holiday programs aren’t just about keeping young people occupied.

They need to provide participants with new skills and experiences, and a chance to develop new social networks, and I think we achieve this.”

All school holiday programs are either free or low-cost, with lunch and morning tea provided.

Registrations close this Wednesday 18 September at 5pm.

Activity flyers and enrolment forms are available by contacting Council’s Customer Service Team on (03) 5018 8100, emailing youthservices@mildura.vic.gov.au or visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/Services/Youth/School-Holiday-Activities

School Holiday Activities are funded by Council and the Victorian Government’s Engage Program, which aims to provide opportunities for young people to participate in activities which build their skills, knowledge and pathways, as well as develop support networks with families, peers and community.
