Council changes services and facilities to meet Stage 3 restrictions

Mildura Rural City Council will change how it delivers some services and facilities this week in line with tightened restrictions to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Regional Victoria will return to Stage 3 ‘Stay at Home’ restrictions from 11.59pm on Wednesday 5 August 2020.
The following changes will come in to effect from Thursday 6 August 2020:
Mildura Arts Centre
Closed to the public.

Mildura Visitor Information & Booking Centre

Council’s three Service Centres remain closed but Customer Support staff continue to be available over the phone and via email to assist the community.
Council Chief Executive Officer Sarah Philpott reassured residents that essential services and infrastructure maintenance would continue. This includes kerbside bin collections, landfills and transfer stations, home and community care, immunisations and maternal and child health.
“Like so many other businesses and individuals, we have had to adapt this year,” Ms Philpott said.
“We have rethought how we deliver the important services and facilities our community relies on and I am incredibly proud of how staff have done that.”
Ms Philpott said the vast majority of Council’s indoor-based office staff were working from home. Significant health and safety measures have been implemented for staff who cannot work from home to protect both employees, their customers and the wider community.
“Our parks and gardens crews, road maintenance teams, community support workers, immunisation nurses and rubbish truck drivers are all doing things differently,” she said.
Council has also introduced a range of support services and relief measures to assist people in our community impacted by the pandemic – emotionally, financially or otherwise.
