Calling on Millewa residents to help shape their community’s future

Published on 11 February 2022

Millewa residents have a powerful opportunity to shape the future of their community by helping to develop the new Millewa Community Plan.

Mildura Mayor Liam Wood said Community Plans were vital documents for each respective town or area, serving as roadmaps for each community.

“Community plans are all-encompassing. They take in everything from residents’ broader shared vision for their town, through to more specifics, such as public facilities, community wellbeing, town pride, transport, education and safety among a whole host of topics," Cr Wood said.

"And there's no-one better to drive these plans than the local experts - the people who live and work in our towns."

The Millewa Advisory Group, supported by Mildura Rural City Council, will run a series of drop-in sessions throughout February, providing a chance for residents to come along and provide their input.

This feedback will form the basis of the Millewa Community Plan 2022-2026.

"We want to hear from as many residents as possible so that we can understand the Millewa community's priorities, needs, wants and ideas for the area they call home," Cr Wood said.

"It will also provide Council will valuable direction on priority projects for the Millewa."
