Councillor for Community Development and Gender Equality Helen Healy said the award-winning show was billed as ‘a hilarious play with a serious message’, in keeping with the broader theme of the nights.

“These four shows are a great opportunity for local families to come together for a fun night out being entertained by top tier actors in their own towns, including a Q and A session after the each show,” Cr Healy said.

“And while Carpe Diem is sure to deliver plenty of laughs and entertainment, it is underpinned by the serious message of how important it is to be aware of our mental health and wellbeing, to look out for one another, and not be afraid to seek help if needed.”

Local mental health professionals will be on hand at each event to provide support if needed.

Carpe Diem was brought to the region as part of Council’s COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Plan and its Drought Funding program, which is supported by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.
