2020 FReeZA Youth Art Prize winners announced

Twelve young Sunraysia artists have been recognised for their talent and creativity as recipients of Mildura Rural City Council’s 2020 FReeZA Youth Art Prize.

More than 70 young artists from across the region entered this year’s competition, taking in youth from Year 7 through to Year 12 in four different categories – drawing, painting, photography and graphic design.

Entries were judged by a panel comprising Council’s Chief Executive Officer Sarah Philpott, Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica and local artist Fiona Merlin.

This year’s winners are:

Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Gavin Sedgmen congratulated this year’s winners.

“Given the large number and quality of this year’s entries, our 12 winners can certainly feel proud of their achievements,” Cr Sedgmen said.

“The fact we received 75 entries this year illustrates the strong arts culture in our region, and the rich pool of talent we’re so fortunate to have in our community.

Each winner will receive a $100 prize for their work.
