One Mildura Rural City Council ratepayer could get up to $2,000 off their rates bill, simply by ditching paper-based correspondence.

All ratepayers who register to receive their rates notice by email by 30 September 2023 will go in the draw to win up to $2,000 off their 2023-24 rates notice.

Ratepayers already signed up for email correspondence will also be included in the draw.

Mayor Liam Wood encouraged all ratepayers to make the switch to electronic rates notices.

“Registering for eNotices will not only give you a chance to win up to $2,000 off your rates bill, it is also a secure, convenient and sustainable way to manage your bills,” Cr Wood said.

“As an organisation, we’re working hard to cut our carbon footprint. Sending out less paper-based correspondence is good for the environment and there are compelling, ongoing cost savings too.”

Currently, just over 10% of Mildura Rural City Council’s 31,000 rates notices are sent via email.

Cr Wood said the goal was to at least double that number this year.

“We hope the potential for a ratepayer to win $2,000 off their 2023-24 bill will be a big enough incentive to motivate ratepayers to sign up for eNotices.”

All ratepayers are eligible to win the prize, except Mildura Rural City Council employees and Councillors.

Registering for eNotices is simple and quick! You can scan the QR code on your rates notice when it arrives, or visit www.mildura.enotices.com.au

Mildura Rural City Council will distribute 2023-24 rates notices in the coming week, with the first quarterly instalment payment due on Monday 2 October 2023.
