Sunraysia residents who haven’t had their say as part of the Loddon Mallee Renewable Energy Roadmap (LMRER) project still have time.

The LMRER will provide policy makers and industry with an understanding of the economic potential for renewable energy within the region, and gives the community a voice in how they would like to see this transformation take place.

Individuals, community groups and businesses have until Sunday 6 October to have their voice heard by filling out the online survey on Council’s website at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/HaveYourSay. Hard copies of the survey are also available at Mildura, Merbein, Red Cliffs and Ouyen libraries while stocks last.

By completing the survey residents will not only help shape the future of renewable energy in our region but have a chance to win a $100 gift voucher to use at a local supermarket or hardware store.

Councillor for Environment and Farming Sustainability Anthony Cirillo said there had already been strong interest in the LMRER from local residents through the recent community workshops.

“It’s great to see the interest and value our community places on renewable energy solutions, and the potential role our region can play,” Cr Cirillo said.

“While we’ve already had a positive response from our community, we believe there are still a lot of people in our region with great ideas who can still contribute.

“I’d urge these people to take a moment to fill out the survey.”

The Roadmap is funded by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, and is delivered by the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance.

The Roadmap is expected to be finalised at the end of the year.
