Join us in marking National Tree Day 2025

The community is invited to play a role in improving urban biodiversity in the Robbins Wetland area in South Mildura as part of Mildura Rural City Council’s National Tree Day later this month.
Councillor for Environmental and Sustainability Jodi Ewings said the event was a chance for residents to come together and meet new people, all the while helping to plant 200 trees in the area.
“National Tree Day is a great opportunity for our community to get active outdoors and meet new people, all the while helping to increase biodiversity and beautify their urban environment,” Cr Ewings said.
“We’ve chosen the Robbins Wetland for this year’s event, on Sunday 27 July, as it’s an important site that creates habitat for plants and animals.
“Planting 200 trees will not only increase biodiversity, but help regenerate the area.”
Council’s National Tree Day event will get underway at 10.30am and run through to 11.30am, with morning tea provided.
Robbins Wetland is on Rita Drive, off Ontario Ave, close to Sixteenth Street.
Council will provide gloves, tools, watering cans, buckets, drinking water and refreshments. Participants are asking to wear appropriate clothing, including good sturdy shoes and long pants.
Council is also seeking expressions of interest from people who may like to contribute to the ongoing care of the wetlands. People can indicate their interest at the event or contact Nardia Baker, Environmental Education Officer on 03 5018 8100.
