If you’ve ever wondered what type of activities or opportunities are on offer at the Mildura Eco Village, an open day later this month is the perfect way to find out.

To be held on Sunday 17 November from 11am to 1pm, the open day will showcase both the facilities available and community groups that utilise this popular site, which is located near the entrance to the Mildura Landfill on Scherger Drive.

All Mildura Eco Village activities and facilities will be open on the day including the Community Garden, Eco House and Education Centre.

And while adults are learning more about the latest in sustainable living techniques and technology there will be children’s activities provided by the Mulberry Tree Play Group to keep youngsters entertained.

Attendees at this month’s open day will also have the opportunity to talk to a local bee-keeper about bees, how their hives work, and why they’re so important.

Councillor for Environment and Farming Sustainability Anthony Cirillo said Mildura Eco Village was an area for the community to come together and share ideas about sustainable and healthy living.

“The Village focuses on key areas of sustainability and resource conservation, including water, energy, waste and biodiversity,” Cr Cirillo said.

“It’s also a great forum for like-minded community members to come together and share ideas about sustainable and healthy living.”
