The Club was formed in 1989 by a small group of secondary school teachers who were interested in woodturning. They participated in woodworking tutorial at the Mildura Technical School in 1985.

The Club have been active members in the community for many years, demonstrations are conducted at schools, fetes, craft and wood shows. We maintain an extensive stock of native and exotic timbers stored in conditions suitable for slow, even drying. Old furniture pieces are repaired and new ones assembled for business and private use utilising the skills and experience of members. Examples of this include the giant chess set for Mildura West Primary School, the restoration of balustrades, staircase and boardwalk at the historic Psyche Pump Station and cubby houses for kindergarten.

Renovation of a bigger workshop at 58 The Crescent, Mildura (former Just Red Gum) is now underway. Meanwhile please visit our demonstration workshop which is located at the Old Mildura Homestead in Cureton Avenue towards Apex park. The workshop is normally open on Thursday and Sundays from 10am to 12 noon. Smaller wooden articles are displayed and are available for sale.

We are actively looking for new members. Anyone with an interest in any facet of woodworking and a passion for the unique characteristics of wood is welcome to join us. Please contact our president Malcolm and come say hello at our workshop. Also find us at our facebook page Mildura Woodturners and Woodworkers Inc.
