NAIDOC Week is a national event which celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is a celebration that encourages the community to come together and participate in the many different events and cultural activities put on by communities, workplaces and schools.
The theme for NAIDOC 2020 is ‘Always Was, Always Will Be.’
Mildura Rural City Council’s NAIDOC 2020 celebrations will be delivered in partnership with our Aboriginal Action Committee, and will be an online initiative in line with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and current restrictions in place around public gatherings.
This online series invites the community to embrace the true history of our country by participating in a range of cultural activities from podcasts to video productions, artist’s commissions, workshops and storytelling.
More information will be made available in the coming weeks ahead of NAIDOC Week (8 November to 15 November)
