Are you passionate and interested in taking a more active role in addressing climate change in our region? A position on the Climate Emergency Community Action Group (CECAG) could be just what you’re looking for.

Expressions of Interest are now open to join the group, which works side-by-side with Mildura Rural City Council to implement the Community Climate Response Plan 2024-2029.

Councillor for Environmental Sustainability Jodi Ewings said the community developed plan features practical actions across six priority areas – health, waste, farming, education, natural environment and urban environment.

“This is a powerful opportunity to play a key role and make a real difference in addressing climate change in our region,” Cr Ewings said.

“The group is currently working to bring The Adaptation Game (TAG) to Mildura, which is an engaging, collaborative game that uses storytelling to help communities understand and prepare for local climate impacts.

This will help us raise further awareness and understanding in our community about the impacts of climate change and how we can mitigate them,” Cr Ewings said.

Expressions of interest to join the group can be made by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/ClimateEmergencyReferenceGroup.  Applications are open until Friday 17 April.
