Mildura Rural City Council is committed to supporting events, which provide an opportunity to grow the visitor economy for the Mildura region. We are looking for events which encourage the engagement with local businesses to deliver the event, stimulate the local economy and provide an opportunity for locals to engage and participate in the community.

Annual Event Funding & Support Grant Round

Mildura Rural City Council is committed to supporting events within the municipality and recognises the value of events to both the economy and community.
 
Our aim is to be known as a vibrant event destination, famous for events that celebrate our iconic locations on Murray River and vivid ancient landscapes, captivating visitor imaginations.
 

Our Annual Event Funding and Support Grants support events and help to position our region as a major event destination with a year round calendar of events. The grants include categories for hallmark, major and community events.

Applications open annually in February for events to be held in the following financial year. Please call the Events Team on 03 5018 8100 to discuss your event.

Events that generate marketing and media opportunities that builds the profile of the Mildura region and/or attract over 1000 people and are targeted primarily at a local audience but also attract visitation from outside the region.

For small events attracting less than 1000 people, a non-competitive grant Is available. The event contributes to making Mildura a great place to live; creates a sense of community by bringing people together; and delivers important messages, information and knowledge.

COVID Event Recovery Grant Round

Our quick turnaround Event Recovery Grants for large and small community events have been extended for the 2021/2022 financial year. Businesses and not for profit organisations are invited to apply for funding for events not already assessed in another funding round by completing a simple application. The round is designed to reignite our vibrant calendar of events, stimulate the local economy and support the community and visitors to engage in local events that can be held within COVID-19 restrictions.

This grant round will remain open until 31 January 2022, subject to allocation of funds, for events that occur before 30 June 2022. Please note, applications must be received prior to the event occurring

Event Recovery Grant Guidelines(PDF, 2MB)

COVID Live Entertainment Grant Round

The Live Entertainment Grant is designed to encourage more live entertainment in the region, supporting both businesses and artists. Small businesses can apply for up to four Live Entertainment Grants of $500 to pay for local artists to perform at their venue. This is aimed at providing more opportunities for venues to reconnect with the community, including potential New Year's Eve and other small-scale holiday period events.

This grant round will remain open until 31 January 2022, subject to allocation of funds, for events that occur before 30 June 2022. Please note, applications must be received prior to the performance occurring.

Civic Event Grant Round

The annual Civic Event Grant Round supports local community groups to deliver Christmas Carols and Australia Day events.

Opening dates for this grant round are still being considered due to COVID-19 restrictions placed on gatherings.
