Award nomination

Nominations for 2025 Australia Day Awards closed 5pm on Friday 31 October 2025.

Winners will be announced at our annual Australia Day celebrations scheduled to take place at Mildura Sporting Precinct from 8am on Monday 26 January.

There will be a free Lions Club breakfast, a coffee van and live entertainment. 

Please note: We have moved our Australia Day celebration event from Nowingi Place to the Mildura Sporting Precinct due to forecast extreme heat on Monday 26 January 2026. This will ensure both the comfort and safety of everyone attending the event. The event will still get underway at 8am and our full scheduled program will go ahead.

Nomination forms

Nomination forms are only available when the nomination period is open. 

Council will publish the nomination period in local print media, this website, on its Facebook page and through a formal media release. 

Nominations require information about who is being nominated, reasons for nominating, who has nominated them and details of referees.   

When the nomination period is open, you can obtain a copy of the form in the following ways:

  • Complete the online nomination process
  • Download a nomination form, print and return to us by the closing time and date
  • Call or email us for a nomination form to be sent to you electronically or by mail
