If you manage a project that helps people with disabilities, provides recreation opportunities or helps people interested in the arts, thousands of dollars in support will soon be available as part of Council’s Community Grants program.

Council’s Community Grants Program helps local not-for-profit organisations and clubs with grants of up to $6000 to assist them in continuing to provide their programs in our community.

Applications for our latest round of Community Grants open early next month in the following areas:

  • Recreation Development (up to $1000)
  • Recreation Facilities Upgrade (up to $6000)
  • Arts Development (up to $2000)
  • Rural Access (up to $3000)

An information evening explaining everything from how to apply through to which category would suit your project will be held at 5.30pm on Wednesday 30 January in the Committee Room at Council’s Deakin Avenue Service Centre.

This event will include opportunities to speak directly to Council staff that manage each of the specific grant areas.

Mildura Mayor Simon Clemence said the information session would be particularly valuable to people and groups who have never applied before.

“While we’ve been able to partner with a host of different groups through our grants program in recent years, we believe there are still many more that we could support,” Cr Clemence said.

“Our upcoming information evening is the perfect opportunity for people to find out more.

“This will not only illustrate the financial support available, but provide valuable tips and information on how to submit your application.

“And for those who aren’t able to make it to the information session, we’d still encourage you to make contact with us before applying, which can help make the application process easier.”

Ouyen and Mallee Track residents can contact Council on (03) 5018 8100 to arrange an appointment to speak to a Grant Officer.

The Community Grants program helps local not-for-profit organisations and clubs achieve outcomes in line with the objectives of our Community and Council Plan 2017 – 2021, whilst improving outcomes for users of facilities and services provided by applicants.

This month’s information evening will precede the opening of applications for grants on 4 February 2019. Applications will be accepted until 4pm on Monday 18 March.
