Gambling Harm Awareness Week is an annual event to help people understand the risks of gambling.

This year’s theme is ‘Set before you bet’, focusing on how setting limits can reduce someone’s risk of experiencing gambling harm.

Join us to learn how setting personal limits can help reduce the risks associated with gambling.

1.30pm-3pm
Thursday 30 October 2025
Benetook Room – The Alfred Deakin Centre

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • What makes gambling feel “normal” in our community.
  • Local gambling statistics.
  • Recognise when gambling may be causing harm.
  • Set personal limits and stay in control.
  • How to support yourself, family and friends.

Everyone is welcome to this event – whether you gamble, know someone who does, or simply want to be a part of a healthier, safer community.

$111,581 is the amount spent on Pokies each day across Mildura Rural City Council.

Normalising gambling can hide the risks, but setting limits can help people protect their money and wellbeing.

This event is hosted by Anglicare Victoria and Mildura Rural City Council.

No bookings needed.
