Mildura Rural City Council’s 2024 Corroboree, a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, will return on Wednesday 20 March 2024 from 5.30pm.

As part of this year’s event, we’re calling on interested local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and artisans to host a market stall at the event.

Terms and Conditions

Among other things, Mildura Rural City Council is responsible for:

  • Developing and running of the Corroboree even
  • Developing safety processes for the event, and ensuring people follow these processes
  • Overall site management, including allocating spaces for various activities (including a dedicated market/stalls area)
  • Safety before, during and after the event

There is no charge for stallholders at the 2024 Corroboree – to facilitate this no charge, there is also no infrastructure (ie. marquees, electricity, tables, etc) for stallholders.

Stall holders must:

  • Complete the stallholder registration form, which provides information about the nature of your stall, by Friday 23 February 2024 so that the organisers can factor this into planning.
  • Have their own public liability insurance, or purchase Council’s one-off event insurance (approximately $33). A copy of this insurance must be included with the registration form. Once your EOI is accepted, Council will contact you to organise payment
  • Bring their own pop-up marquees (if desired), tables (if desired), chairs (if desired), carts or trolleys (if desired) and display items for their wares. Marquees, if used, must be no larger than 3x3m and be secured either by weights attached or pinned with 300mm tent pegs (not star pickets) so that they will not be blown about by wind.
  • Ensure they set up their stall only in the designated stallholder area
  • Follow all safety procedures, including bump-in and bump-out vehicle guidelines
  • Be responsible for their own items/not leaving items unattended
  • Have any relevant permits for items being sold (eg. food safety/handling, etc)
  • Remove any rubbish and recycling from your site into event bins provided

Bump-in and bump-out guidelines

Stallholders must have stalls set up by 5pm – you cannot commence setting up after this time, as the event has already started.

If you are using a vehicle to transport items to the stallholder site, the vehicle must be walked in by one of the event staff wearing a hi-vis vest. Vehicles must not travel on the site at more than 10 km/h, and must have hazard lights on. You cannot access the site until pm. Vehicles must be off the site by 5pm. No vehicle will be allowed to enter the site after 4:45pm – if you arrive at or after 4:45pm you will have to park in the carpark and carry items in by hand/trolley.

Due to the nature of this year’s event, we do not know what time the event will end – you can commence packing your things whenever you like, however there will be no vehicle access to the site until after the event has concluded and all community members are off site. You should expect to NOT have vehicle access to the site for pack-down. You may have friends and trolleys to assist you. Do not attempt to bring your vehicle onto the site at the event conclusion, unless instructed to. If vehicles can drive onto the market site at the event conclusion, this is only at the direction of the event coordinator. The vehicle must be walked in by one of the event staff wearing a hi-vis vest. Vehicles must not travel on the site at more than 10 km/h and must have hazard lights on.

We ask that you please follow these instructions to ensure a smooth and safe set up and pack down of the area for this event.
