Mildura Rural City is situated in Victoria's north-west. Covering around 10 percent of the state's area, its landscape ranges from precious Mallee vegetation to grain farms, intensive horticulture, vibrant towns and the beautiful banks of the Murray River.
The municipality's population of around 60,000 is culturally diverse, giving the region a cosmopolitan flavour.
Mildura Rail Feasibility Study
Well done to all residents and organisations who attended a community meeting or wrote a submission for the Department of Transport's feasibility study into returning passenger rail services to Mildura. Council and Mildura Development Corporation submitted a joint report to the study that outlined our community's need and right for a passenger rail service. View the report here.
While the consultation phase is over residents are still encouraged to write to the Minister for Transport regarding the issue as we await a report on the feasibility study. Further information about the study is available at the Department of Transport website.
