Mildura Planning Scheme Amendment C89
Implementation of Mildura Housing & Settlement Strategy (MHSS) & Review of Planning Controls for Mildura Older Irrigation Area (MOIA)
Amendment C89 (Gazetted 17 November 2017) rezones additional land for residential development around Mildura, Nichols Point, Irymple, Merbein, Cabarita, Koorlong and Cardross. New zones known as the Neighbourhood Residential Zone, the Rural Living Zone and the Rural Activity Zone are also included. This is as recommended in the Mildura Housing and Settlement and Strategy (MHSS). For more information on the MHSS changes please refer to the fact sheet in the links below. A link is also provided through to Council's page dedicated to the MOIA.
During 2014 Council also completed the review of planning controls for land within the Mildura Older Irrigated Area (MOIA). Due to its importance to settlements in the older irrigated area of Mildura, Red Cliffs and Merbein, especially now the Sunraysia Modernisation project is underway C89 sets out requirements for the development of dwellings and subdivision of land with modifications to the MOIA incorporated document.
Directions for growth are identified in changes to the town structure plans for Mildura, Fifteen Street, Irymple, Merbein and Red Cliffs along with the introduction of a new local planning policy which promotes healthy and sustainable neighbourhood design.
