2023 Australia Day Award nominations now open
Published on 13 September 2022
If there's a person or event you're aware of that has achieved or contributed to our region over the past 12 months, consider nominating them for a 2023 Australia Day Award.
Nominations are now open in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event or Project of the Year
Mildura Mayor Cr Liam Wood said the high-profile awards were an opportunity for the community to ensure local people and groups received the recognition they deserved.
"Each year there are countless people and groups doing amazing things in our region, and yet I suspect only a fraction of them receive the acknowledgment they rightly deserve," Cr Wood said.
"Our Australia Day Awards are a chance to put forward these people and projects so they can be recognised for their efforts."
Nominations can be made by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/awards and can be submitted until 5pm on Friday 4 November this year.
Full details on eligibility and selection criteria are also available on the awards nomination page.
People making nominations are encouraged to provide as much information as possible as it is this information that forms the majority of the assessment process.
