Make sure you have your say on the future of the Mildura Motorsports and Community Precinct by getting your submission to us by 14 December.

Mildura Rural City Council has just completed a round of community engagement sessions which allowed the public to view and seek more information about the Mildura Motorsports and Community Precinct Draft Business Case.

The document outlined five possible options for the motorsport precinct, which under a staged development plan is forecast to generate more than $720million in economic benefits for Mildura over 30 years.

The plans include a three-kilometre bitumen race track, skid pan and supporting facilities at Koorlong’s ‘H-block’.

Mildura Rural City Council Mayor Glenn Milne said it was important residents had input into the project.

“This is such an exciting project, not just for this region, but for Victoria, and from a community and stake-holder perspective, we’re very keen to hear what you think,” Cr Milne said.

“We know we do motorsports very well here in Sunraysia, both in terms of producing champions in virtually every sphere of motorsport for decades, but also hosting top tier national and international events.

“This project promises to capitalise on this and take this region to a new level.”

This month’s community engagement sessions attracted interest from the general community, motorsport club representatives and the business sector.

Submissions must be received by Wednesday 14 December and can be emailed to mrcc@mildura.vic.gov.au, using ‘Mildura Motorsport Business Case Submission’ as the subject title.

Alternatively, submissions can be mailed to Mildura Rural City Council, PO Box 105 Mildura, Victoria 3502.
