Father and daughter duo David and Sophie Harris will play a wide range of modern music peppered with some old classics when they perform as TONIC at next Friday’s Twilight event.

David and Sophie have been performing music together for 25 years, but have only been performing as a duo for the past three years, playing a range of instruments including acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin and double bass to produce an exciting contemporary folk/pop sound.

Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Jason Modica said the Harris family has always had strong ties to music in the region.

“David Harris has performed in bands such as IQ Zero, Le Cats, The Cellarats and The Shared Affair, while Sophie has recently joined the band, Grab Ya Cat,” Cr Modica said.

“It’s clear that David and Sophie love music and performing together, and Twilight is a perfect event for their type of music.”

Twilight at Mildura Arts Centre (MAC) runs from 5pm to 8.30pm on Friday, 17 February.

Twilight is a free outdoor event with live music on the MAC lawns, kid’s activities, and access to galleries and Rio Vista Historic House. Barbecue food can also be purchased on the night, provided by the Mildura Lions Club, as well as drinks and snacks, including antipasto platters the café (No BYO alcohol).
