Sunraysia residents interested in having antiques or collectables assessed by an accredited valuer have the opportunity to do so at a Valuation Day at Mildura Arts Centre next weekend.

Certified Australian Auctioneers and Valuers Association of Australia (AVAA) member Warren Joel will be on hand from 10am to 1pm on Sunday 19 August, providing a convenient way for people to have their valuables accurately assessed.

Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica said this was the first time such an opportunity had been made available at Mildura Arts Centre.

“If you’ve had that family heirloom that’s been with you for decades, or something you picked up at a garage sale or other event and have always wondered what it’s worth, this is the perfect opportunity to find out,” Cr Modica said.

People wishing to have items valued need to purchase tickets at $5 each, with all proceeds going towards conservation works at Mildura’s iconic Rio Vista Historic House.

People can have a maximum of three items valued.

To purchase a ticket for each item to be valued, visit Mildura Arts Centre’s website at www.milduraartscentre.com.au or the Mildura Arts Centre Box Office.

The AVAA is Australia’s leading body of auctioneers and valuers of fine art, antiques and collectables, featuring certified auctioneers and valuers.
