The creative talent of Sunraysia’s young artists is now on show at the Mildura Visitor Information and Booking Centre (MVIBC) as part of this year’s FReeZA Youth Art Prize.

The annual event is a chance for local artists aged 12 to 25 to showcase their works to the broader community as well as receive recognition for their artistic talent.

There are more than 70 entries in this year’s FReeZA Youth Art Prize, and Sunraysia residents have a chance to vote for their favourite piece by inspecting the works at the MVIBC.

Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Min Poole congratulated this year’s entrants and encouraged residents to visit the exhibition.

“It’s great to see so many artists enter this year’s competition, and their works are certainly something they should be proud of,” Cr Poole said.

“This is a fantastic way to expose the artistic talent we’re so fortunate to have in our community, particularly among our younger residents.”

Works on exhibition include drawings, paintings, photography, graphic design and 3D.

Winners will be announced at a special event at the MVIBC on Wednesday 8 August from 5.30pm. One winner will be awarded in each artistic section, each receiving a $100 prize. There will also be an overall ‘Peoples’ Choice’ award.

Entrants’ artwork will remain on exhibition until 24 August, allowing the community to view and appreciate their works.
