Award-winning author Tricia Stringer will visit the Mildura Library next month, providing Sunraysia residents with a chance to speak to her about her latest novel Jewel in the North.

Based in South Australia’s Copper Coast region, Tricia is the best-selling author of seven books, including the historical Heart of the Country (2015) and its highly successful follow-up Dust on the Horizon (2016).

Described as ‘the voice of Australian story-telling’, Tricia has travelled extensively throughout Australia and says her passion for the places and people she’s encountered is what compels her to write stories reflecting the country’s uniqueness.

Tricia’s visit to Mildura Library on Tuesday, 9 May is part of her tour supporting Jewel in the North – “a breathtaking historical family saga of love, death and forgiveness and a quest for the Jewel of the North” set in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges.

Her visit to Mildura Library next month is a free event, open to the general public.

Mildura Rural City Councillor for Arts and Culture, Deputy Mayor Jason Modica, encouraged Sunraysia residents to take advantage of this rare opportunity.

“As an avid reader myself, this is a wonderful opportunity to listen to a best-selling author speak about her life, her writing and what inspires her writing process,” Cr Modica said.

“Tricia has enthralled thousands of readers with her stories of the life and people of rural Australia, and being able to speak to her about Jewel in the North, which is her follow-up to last year’s Dust on the Horizon, and the final novel in her best-selling Flinders Ranges series, is a chance not to be missed.”

Tricia will speak at the Mildura Library on Tuesday, 9 May from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Bookings for next month’s visit by Tricia can be made by contacting the Mildura Library by phone on (03) 5018 8350, in person at the library, or online by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/library
