Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 1982 gives you a legal right to access information held by Council and to apply for incorrect, out of date or misleading information about them to be amended or removed from their personal file.
We are committed to, where possible, the proactive and informal release of information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Professional Standards issued by the Victorian Information Commissioner, you can read more at www.ovic.vic.gov.au.
In the interests of transparency, Mildura Rural City Council has compiled a Part II Freedom of Information Statement which includes the following information:

Freedom of Information requests must be made in writing and accompanied by an application fee of $30.60 (as at 1 July 2022). The request must provide such information as is reasonably necessary to enable the documents to be identified. If the application is not clear Council has a legal duty to provide reasonable opportunity for consultation with the applicant to assist the applicant make a valid application.
