Youth Action Committee - NOW OPEN

Mildura Rural City Council provides young people with an opportunity to develop their leadership skills, learn how local government works, meet new people and provide a voice for young people in our community. Youth Action Committee is a group of young people who will be in year 10 in a Victorian school in 2019. The committee meet regularly to discuss youth issues, help organise youth and community events, and take part in leadership forums and personal development activities.    

The purpose of the Youth Action Committee is to:

  • Participate in youth development and leadership opportunities.
  • Assist in identifying issues and needs relevant to young people in the municipality.
  • Organise events and activities for young people.
  • Assist Mildura Rural City Council to promote a positive image of young people in the community and recognise the contribution young people make to community life.

What’s required? 

  • Be able to participate in youth development and leadership opportunities.
  • Be able to assist in identifying issues and needs relevant to young people in the municipality.
  • Be able to participate in at least 80% of meetings (dates and times to be confirmed).
  • Be able to assist Mildura Rural City Council to promote a positive image of young people in the community and recognise the contribution young people make to community life.
  • Be in year 10 in January 2019.
  • Be involved as an active participant for 12 months.
