Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee MEMPC

In accordance with the Emergency Management Act 2013, the Mildura Rural City Council has appointed a Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC).

The Committee meets four times each year and comprises representatives from Council, response and recovery agencies and local community groups involved in emergency management issues.

One of the key roles of the MEMPC is to develop and maintain a Municipal Emergency Management Plan MEMP as required in Section 21(4) of the Emergency Management Act 2013.

The current Municipal Emergency Management Plan addresses the prevention of, and response to, a range of emergencies within the municipality, as well as recovery activities once the emergency has passed.
