COVID Information and Support
In This Section
All cats and dogs over the age of three months must be registered with Council. Registrations are due on 10 April every year and any newly registered pets must also be microchipped.
Pet registration fees vary depending on whether or not your animal has been desexed, its age and other factors. Registering a new animal differs slightly from a renewal. To renew a pet registration, Council will send you out a renewal form.
Council conducts random checks throughout the municipality and can fine pet owners found with unregistered animals. You can also be penalised if you've registered your pet as desexed and it's found not to be.

Note: Dogs that are kept for the purpose of assisting a visually-impaired person or that are kept by a Government authority are exempt from the above fees.
