Construction of Stage 1 of the Mildura South Regional Sporting Precinct commenced in late 2019. The first sod was turned by Federal Member for Mallee Dr Anne Webster in October 2019. Also in attendance was Mildura Rural City Mayor Cr Simon Clemence, other Councillors and representatives of future user groups.

By the end of April 2020, contractors had completed all demolition and site preparation works, with civil works, including footing excavation and the installation of in-ground services also getting underway alongside preparations for the site's premier outdoor sporting oval.

In May 2020, erection of the steel framework for the main stadium occurred, while by June 2020 work had commenced on the pavilion, coaches box and outdoor change rooms. Concrete works on the main stadium were also completed.

By July 2020, pre-cast panel installation and blockwork for the walls commenced, as did car park form work and curbing. Concrete pours to level two of the facility were completeted in August 2020, as was the pavilion roofing. Installation of carpark ashphalt also commenced, as did the installation of the inground services to the premier sporting oval. External wall cladding to the stadium and window installation also commenced.

Carpark asphalt installation was completed in September 2020, with the pavillion fit-out also rapidly progressing. Works on the roof of the main stadium also continued, as did installation of inground services to the premier sporting oval.

By November 2020, stadium roofing and glass panel installation was completed, while work on the pavilion was finalised in readiness for fit-out. Erection of competition-standard lighting towers was also completed, as was the installation of the turf cricket wicket.

Installation of more than 20,000 square metres of turf was rolled out in January 2021 (watch the video here). This massive task was carried out by local contractors, and was completed in five days By early February 2021, sporting equipment, including basketball hoops and scoreboards, were installed inside the main stadium, while the first floor roofing was also completed.

Across March and April 2021, fit out works were carried out across the site, landscaping works commenced and the installation of the sports courts was completed (watch the video here).

By May 2021, the fit out of the main stadium had commenced, while goal posts and interchange benches were also installed around the main sporting oval. Works to the site's entry also began, and were completed by June 2021.

Further landscaping works around the main oval, and at the front of the stadium, progressed in July 2021, while fit out inside the stadium was also completed during this time.

Practical completion of Stage 1 works occurred on 30 July 2021.
