Real People, Real Jobs

Mildura Rural City Council’s Community Employment Program is here to assist unemployed Victorians, to overcome their barriers to finding sustainable employment.

We can assist in many different aspects, as each person comes with different barriers. We assist each person on an individualised basis and not a one size fits all approach.

What we can do for you

We will work with you and provide specific support for you to address your needs for ongoing employment. This may be done through referrals to external services, such as counselling or assistance, writing a resume or job application. We can also assist people who may require literacy and numeracy support.
We will help you fill in the gaps to finding or sustaining work including;
  • Education and Training
  • Industry specific Licensing
  • Assistance with uniforms and Post Placement Support
We will create a personal marketing plan to ensure that we place you in work that you really want to do, rather than just referring you for a job.

How we work

We have regular meetings with local industry leaders to broker sustainable employment for you. There are many large industry providers in our area that employ large amounts of staff. Through discussion with employers, we can determine vacancies and how to fill those positions.

We will work with you to determine exactly what needs to be done to get you back into the workforce.We will ensure that you are engaged with your Job Active Providers (if you are linked with one) and that our program does not conflict with your obligations, ensuring that  duplication of services doesn’t occur.

We offer employment based Post Placement Support to ensure that you and your employer can overcome any barriers that you may be facing. It may be that additional training is needed or a work uniform is required, we may be able assist with these areas.
