Information for Potential Candidates

Thinking of Standing for Council?

The next Council election will be held on 24 October 2020.  Now is the time to get informed so you can have your voice heard in 2020.

Being a Councillor expands your ability to influence issues that you care about, and to make a difference in your community. As the governing body of a local municipality, Councillors play a vital leadership role in creating and implementing their community’s vision.

By standing for Council, you will have the opportunity to work with your community, advocate and improve infrastructure and local amenities and build stronger and more engaged communities.

Nominations for the 2020 Council election will close at 12 noon on Tuesday 22 September 2020.

Mildura Rural City Council will provide information to the community that may be useful to prospective Councillors through this site as it becomes available, in the lead up to the 2020 election.
