Register your new pet

All cats and dogs over the age of three months must be registered with Council.
Registrations are due on 10 April every year and any newly registered pets must also be microchipped. 

Please note, online registration forms will not be accepted for animals at the Mildura Animal Pound. Registrations for these animals can be completed in person at the pound when the animal is released.

Pet registration fees vary depending on whether or not your animal has been desexed, its age and other factors. 

Online

Step 1.In order to complete this form, you will require the following information:

  • Are registering a pet for the first time
  • Live within this municipality
  • Proof of microchipping Proof of desexing (if applicable)
  • Pensioner card (if applicable)
  • Seniors Card and Centrelink Health Care Cards are not eligible for concession
  • Have a credit card or debit card
  • Valid email address

Step 3.After you submit this form

  • We will send you an email receipt to confirm we have received your application.
  • If the correct supporting documentation is not provided, registration will be declined, and the applicant will be contacted within 5 working days of submission and payment will be refunded to your card.  You will need to commence the new animal registration process again.  
  • Applicants will receive a registration certificate and a lifetime tag to their nominated mailing address.

2024/25 Pet Registration Fees

These fees are valid until 10 April 2025.

Desexed dog/cat $51
Pensioner NOT desexed dog/cat $73
Pensioner desexed dog/cat $25.50
Replacement of registration tag Free

Note: Dogs that are kept for the purpose of assisting a visually impaired person or that are kept by a government authority are exempt from the above fees.

Pensioner Discounts

The following cardholders are eligible for a pensioner’s concession Pet Registration fee.

  • Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card
  • Department of Veterans Affairs Pensioner Concession Card
  • Department of Veterans Affairs Repatriation Health Card specifying a War Widow TPI
These are the only pension cards accepted for half rate fees. A photocopy of the pension card must accompany any claims for concession on animal registrations.
