Rural Access Grant
The Rural Access Grant assists local, not-for-profit organisations and groups to deliver locally-based projects that meet the needs of people with a disability, their carers and families.
These grants also provide infrastructural responses to access barriers that affect people with a disability including ramps, the removal of steps to create level access, permanent hearing loops, accessible signage and accessible toilet facilities.
Groups proposing projects at Council owned or managed facilities must apply for and receive approved Land Managers Consent prior to submitting a grant application. Groups requiring Land Managers Consent are encouraged to contact Council before the grant opening date as the approval process may take up to 6 weeks from receipt of a completed application form.

Up to $3,000.
When do grant applications open and close?
Rural Access grants open annually in February.

How do I apply for this grant?
Applications must be submitted electronically via Council’s on-line grants portal (Smartygrants). To start an application please call (03) 5018 8100 and ask to speak to the relevant grants officer.
